GENOCIDE AND OTHER STORIES

10 07 2013

IN A SURVEY on corruption conducted by Transparency International, Filipino respondents said the police sector was the most corrupt in the country. Congressmen are demanding a recount.

1
According to a survey conducted by Transparency International, only 52 percent of Filipinos believe that legislators are corrupt. To the 48 percent, you have no idea!

Nearly 4 in 10 Filipinos think corruption in the Philippines went down in the past two years. President Aquino’s speechwriters reacted, “Pwede nang pang-SONA ‘yan.”

SONA 2013
The House of Representatives is now busy preparing for President Aquino’s State of the Nation Address on July 22. Repairs and repainting have been made. Security will be very tight in Batasan. Signage have been put in place: No protest rallies; No unruly hecklers; No suicide attempts.

Oral Arguments
In his opening remark before the Supreme Court, RH Law petitioner Francisco ‘Kit’ Tatad asked, “Have we become a democracy only to submit to state supervision and control?” And ‘Martial Law’ was like, “Senti ka na naman friend!”

Former senator Kit Tatad, who argued for the petitioners, described the RH Law as “genocide.”
“Dear Mr. Tatad,
Hiyang-hiya naman ako sa inyo.”
- Sincerely,
Darfur

Demolition
Parañaque Rep. Gustavo Tambunting proposed a bill that would require government men to follow certain protocols in carrying out demolitions to prevent violence. The proposed bill is called “existent.”

Traffic
To ease traffic congestion in the metro especially on EDSA, a four-day work week was proposed by Atty. Romulo Macalintal. Yes, that’s Romy Macalintal – the election lawyer. Let’s vote on his proposal.

Malacañang has rejected lawyer Romulo Macalintal’s proposed four-day work week – although rumors have it the President has been following that schedule for three years now.

Earthquake
Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum says based on historical records, a very strong earthquake may hit Metro Manila within this lifetime. It may shock motorists but EDSA will probably move.

1Single Again
George Clooney and his girlfriend of two years, Stacy Keibler have called it quits. Clooney is single again. He can’t seem to find his true love. He should try politics and run for president.

Dwight Coward
Dwight Howard has left the Los Angeles Lakers. He transferred to the Houston Rockets – not to TV5 as rumored earlier.

Imelda
Former First Lady Imelda Marcos is 84 years old. The other night, she told GMA News TV that she had her first stem cell treatment in 1971. The secret is out! It’s not formalin.

The corruption in the Philippines in the police force is samll in comparison to some other Asian countries. South Korea comes to mind.

Pnoy’s inaction on corruption speaks louder than malacanan propaganda.

Pnoy’s silence speaks louder than czech/check loving ballsy cruz and her avaricious husband

The smokescreen eminating from the nicotine ridden halls of malacanan gets thicker as the desperation grows.

The 7 highly effective methods of corrupt politicians

1. Use ‘surveys’ not facts

2. Delay investigations, and hope any adverse issue fades away

3. Handle money at ‘arms length’ – family/dummy corporations and offshore accounts

4. Don’t sweat the small stuff – go for big bribes

5. Never upset the powers that be. The have the’ goods’ on you.

6. Promote good policies in public, derail them behind the scenes

7. Don’t waste time on anything that does not have a personal/financial payback/payoff

I might just be small-minded to think that no matter what bill the government has about health it cannot obligate people to participate in it. So, why fight over this RH law? Let it be there for those who want and need to access contraceptives and if you don’t it’s none of your business to stop others! The job of the government is to provide for its people and that’s what the RH law is suppose to do. What people do in their bedroom or how many children people would want to have, government cannot dictate. And if there is one thing church should talk about it’s responsible parenthood. Once you make people understand that being a parent is a responsibility to your child, to yourself, to your community, and to your God you have done enough as a church. Stop speaking for God or acting like one.
