According to the group’s website, Ako Mismo is about “YOU making a stand and taking real action for the causes you believe in. Causes that you yourself can truly pursue to make a real, positive difference to your fellow countryman, to your country.”
Also aired during the commercial gaps were the “infomercials” of some government officials, advertisements which are now the subject of debates.
Inspired by AkoMismo.Org’s tv ad, the Professional Heckler takes another dig at these premature political advertisements.

In all my years of signing up for information I have never had a site require so much information AS REQUIRED FIELDS. The amount of information they have asked is so detailed that they can track you down to your zip code and contact you any time.
This makes for a perfect voter mapping database and campaign tool for anyone that wants to pay SMART for the information.
Did you think SMART would pay MILLIONS in production and advertising and talent costs for nothing?
If you refer to their privacy policy that no one ever reads, it states:

Also change your phone number if you like. This is to protect your privacy.

The ad was believed to be funded by the PLDT group. Manny Pangilinan is indeed dead serious to run in the next presidential polls. After conquering Lopez colonies like Maynilad, Manila North Tollways and Meralco,Pangilinan’s group has reportedly bought the Philippine Star. I will not be shocked if he will also target ABS-CBN. He will become the most powerful businessman in the Philippines. But what could be his party’s name: Partido telepono, partido Kuryente, Partido kalsada, partido Bituin. Because of this development, Globe telecom is endorsing other candidates. It will give free simcards to those who will not support Pangilinan. The Philippine Daily Inquirer is also worrried. They feared that the Philippine star will be the official paper of the government once Pangilinan wins .

Who cares if you sign up or not, wala din pakialam yung ad kung mag sign up kayo or hindi. ITS ALL ABOUT CHOICE! Tama si Maxine, na sa pilipinas, lahat dapat may kapalit. the last time i exercised my right of suffrage as a citizen of this, my only and dearly beloved country, registered as a voter, went to the polling precinct, made pila under the schorching sun, looked for my name which almost took away my afternoon siesta, sat ( yeah, sat) on a classroom chair ( yeah, we had no booth), wrote down the name of my one and only woman candidate, was when i was still in the university which moulded me to become who i am now. ( yeah drowning pinoy, peyups nga, hehe)
for being an ishko and loving it, i was taught and therefore wanted to claim my birthright. i did and we won. little did we know, we the ishkos and the ishkas of OUR country, allied with other gallant men and women, that no sooner than we had finished celebrating our hard-fought freedoms, we would have to contend anew with legions of pretenders and their minions of sabboteurs.
and so, WE all had to fight again. and fought with all our might WE did again, again and again, “til justice was done though the heavens fall”. . the rest, as they say, was history.
that was the FIRST and the LAST time i exercised my right. for the longest time, “i lost my appetite” for politics too. . like you, if i’m reading you right.
but i’ve only gone on idle mode. life and heavenly wisdom did so foretell. . but i never lost hope. .
as everyone must, i NOW implore you. .
for this country of ours, this pearl of the orient seas, is where we were born and here we should return. to dust, if need be. .
come back for our people needs us. .
we may leave and sojourn to foreign lands and dsitant shores, but this is where be belong. . i hope you will agree. .
for we filipinos are indeed a blessed race. endowed with mountains greens, surrounded by seas so blue, it’s been traversed and sailed over by aliens for hundreds upon hundreds of years. our forefathers and our forebears are such resilient viruses that those they fought and vanquished even earned their eternal praise and respect. .

to those who still haven’t lost their idealism, yah, there’s always a homecoming to look forward to.
but what if this idealism has been trampled upon by the system, which in my opinion, has gone to dogs ever since we drove the “dictator” away?
what could be more frustrating than- after doing your part before:
-marching on the streets in indignation when ninoy was shot,
-witnessing the six or seven mourners struck by lighting amidst heavy downpour when he was buried,
-proudly exercising one’s voting right during the snap presidential election,
-taking on the streets again in protest of the “dagdag-bawas”,
-jubilating after seeing two presidents sworn in, the bad one eventually fleeing,
-entering the workforce with high hopes for a recovered nation,
then only to be dismayed later by:
- the setbacks caused by coups, – VP Laurel as “langaw”
- the “kamag-anaks”
- the return of the “elites”
- the almost chasing for nothing of the hidden wealth,
- a president who despite her position, still cannot solve the big brains behind who killed her husband,
- 14 hour-long brownouts
- dagdag-bawas na naman daw when the tabako man succeeded,
- a weird voting public saying yes to the likes of honasan (coup leader), ramon revilla, jawo, etc.
- putting all hopes to a charismatic ex-atenean actor who has only one cabinet secretary left, standing sober at 5 am, all these hopes to be dashed by the BW scandal, jueting, etc, etc, the rest is history?
the country has gone to the dogs, that is my honest opinion. i’ve tried and failed for more than a decade of trying technology transfer (what i’ve learned abroad, i implement in my work) only to be frustrated, the power tools i employ lands up in some pawnshop after being stolen as fast as they are given.
teaching the correct method of doing work lands in deaf ears.

as near as i can remember, the last time we had an atenean aspiring for the presidency, he won. that was when my beloved grampa was still alive. and according to gramps, that atenean won fair and square. so nothing wrong with that.
and more importantly, said gramps, that atenean didn’t have to spend so much money either during his campaign as he was riding on the crest of his popularity. nothing wrong with that too.
mass of people from the elite to the street sweepers rabidly supported that atenean under the thought that being an atenean, he spells less trouble, less greedy, never corrupt and easiest to manipulate.
but alas, to the great consternation, bewilderment and utter disbelief of most of his supporters, including his own overly extended family, the untruth came as immediately as that atenean sat foot on the palace halls. and started boozing his nights away and painted his trademark cabinet johnny-walker-blue in the backdrop of muted palace walls.
suddenly the non-ateneans found themselves scrimping on scrap. left with almost nothing but left-overs and crap. a blue national daily earned that atenean’s ire as he wanted his shenanigans constantly under wraps. the moros of camp abubakar hid in foxholes and/or hunted like beasts of prey in the jungles of their mountain lairs, facing death and annihilation had they insisted on keeping their ancestral lands under their clasp.
reinforced by a head-banger and basher of a deadly cop, they burned their critics charcoal black. street sweepers suddenly found themselves unable to even clean their toothless grin. intellectuals who thought their abilities are more supreme, and that atenean they can easily manipulate, belatedly found themselves in a state of desperate emasculate.
