De Venecia on the ZTE Deal
Ousted House Speaker Jose De Venecia says if he were to testify now on the ZTE NBN deal, his revelations may cause the fall of the Arroyo government. That’s the kind of fall the militants wanted to see, not Ka Bel’s.
Cong. Jose De Venecia vows to testify on the ZTE NBN deal at the right time “before the proper forum.” Well, if he keeps waiting for a forum that’s not improper, his testimony could take time.
Former Speaker Jose De Venecia will testify on the ZTE NBN deal “at the right time.” For now, he needs to complete his testimony before another forum – Gina De Venecia.
Sen. Aquilino Pimentel acknowledged that De Venecia’s Senate appearance could “backfire” on him since he was also involved in the controversial $500-million NorthRail project. We therefore appeal to you Mr. former Speaker, please… testify now!

Swaziland King in Manila
President Arroyo was thankful for the state visit of King Mswati III of the impoverished African nation of Swaziland. When she’s with him, she feels like a leader of a first world country.
King Mswati III of Swaziland arrived last night for a state visit. When Erap heard the news, he expressed interest to meet Mswati saying he wants to open an account – in Berne.

GSIS in MERALCO??? HELLO!!! HOW STUPID WOULD THIS MOVE BE?
Winston Garcia is hated and cursed by most, by majority of the GSIS members. True, there are some good publicity, projects but please, where are the actual benefits for the members? Twice, they issed a GSIS e-card, which meant expense but still unresolved issues in benefits and posting of contributions. For us, government employees, it was a waste of time or vacation for some to go and line up at GSIS for an e card. A consul even admitted that what you have is just publicity – that this Winston Garcia even went to the United States saying how the e card would benefit its members, but when asked how could they bring the bed ridden members to the Embassy or Consulate for card application and activitation, he was quiet and whispered – LET THEM DIE.
The Senate should investigate GSIS. Winston Garcia benefitted much financially from GSIS, leaving most of its members nothing but empty promises. There are many disgruntled members, just not organized enough. Winston Garcia failed in running the GSIS for the benefit of the members, how do you think they would run Meralco? To lower the electricity? Read the annual report, GSIS have insufficient funds to pay the benefits of its members, it is for this reason that many surmise the move to extend the retirement age of government employees is basically to extend the deadline.
Magazine says : I absolutely agree with this !
