Laguna Massacre
After last Friday’s gruesome murder of 10 people in a branch of RCBC in Cabuyao, eight people were killed in a murderous shooting spree in Calamba City yesterday… officially making Laguna province the second most dangerous place in the world today after Iraq.
Laguna Massacre II
Police in Laguna are having a difficult time catching the suspects in the RCBC murder – something that’s not surprising considering that the police couldn’t even catch a single jueteng collector in the province.
Villar is Richest Senator
Senate President Manuel Villar retains the title “richest senator” this year – successfully holding off a late surge from Jamby Madrigal who was hoping to snatch the title after her billionaire aunt’s death last month.
“Ka Bel” Dies
Militant labor leader Crispin Beltran died of head injuries after falling from the rooftop of his home in Bulacan. Now that’s what you call “fallen comrade.”
Ka Bel Dies II
After falling off the roof of his Bulacan house, former KMU leader, staunch government critic, and leftist party-list representative Crispin Beltran died of head injuries. Rumors say former AFP Chief of Staff Hermogenes Esperon hailed the demise as a boost to the military’s goal of wiping out insurgents by 2010.
“Ka Bel” Dies III
Leftist leader Crispin Beltran is dead at 75. Militants are preparing a hero’s burial for Ka Bel that would include a 21-gun salute… from a squad of New People’s Army rebels.
KC in Mindanao
Young actress and UN ambassador for the World Food Program KC Concepcion was shocked and saddened by the hunger situation in Lanao Del Sur. The experience was a huge reality check for KC who didn’t realize – until her Mindanao visit, the impact of her Mommy Sharon’s binge eating.

Ka Bel would laugh if he read this blog… cause he’s the last person to take himself too seriously… he takes his issues seriously…not himself.
Has anyone here ever heard of IRONY?
Condolence to the family of Mr. Crispin Beltran.
Villar the Richest Senator — yep sipag at tyaga…
Crispin Beltran dies, still the poorest congressman with 50,000 networth, followed by Satur Ocampo and Teddy Casiño with 600,000 and 300,000 respectively. Yet Villar’s wife is still the richest with over 1 billion in assets, yet ano ba ang nagawa nya kompara sa nagawa ni Crispin?
I admire all your posts Mr. Loi, except this one. Kunting sensitivity naman sana.
Sipag at tyaga my foot.
thank goodness, you are not a professor! i dread the thought!
Hindi ba may code of ethics ang journalists and bloggers. May canons of good taste. I am sure you know those things, considering that you’re in the media and that you belong to a family of educators.
They were courteous and respectful kahit hinudas nila si Beltran until his death. They know that they must respect the dead and those who are mourning.
i’ve been reading and re-reading this post since after that fateful day when MY beloved KA BEL tragically fell and succumbed to his head injuries.
i likewise read and re-read all the responses to ProfHeckler’s post, and to this very day, i can’t find no malice, ill-motive nor desecration of the memories of MY “fallen comrade”.
i still remember very vividly when i first met MY KA BEL. He was a taxi driver, labor union leader, street parliamentarian and an uncompromising foe of the evils of our society and country, both foreign and domestic. He came to our university alone, yes alone, and by what manner, i may never know.
he came alone to speak. As he was invited by our then student council chairman to speak before the student body, faculty and our large community.
he came alone in sandals, blue jeans, v-necked shirt and a folder tucked under his armpit. He was small, just a little over 5 feet, i would imagine. but he stood TALL and loomed LARGE. he spoke BIG against the evils and injustices besetting all of us. the things he spoke about were as true and valid before as they are still today.
and i’ve never forgotten every single word and gesture. . still rings true kasi to this very day. .
small and frail-looking, bespectacled and soft-spoken, he assumes a different persona when he speaks. he BOOMs and he’s FEARLESS. he minces no words, and spews fire against evil-doers and marches like a true patriot and soldier of his people.
but he was also a FATHER to ALL. . he was always there to comfort, to renew, to encourage, to support, to offer solace, to take the grime, the spit, even the bullets for ALL his children of the streets and comrades-in-arms in the labor front.
HE was everywhere. . and HE is still with US. in spirit this may be, but his words, passion and dedication will continue to LIVE forevermore. .
this space will never be enough to capture MY KA BEL, as nobody and no one ever did. .
a HIGHER BEING though has better plans. and we may never understand.
to the end, MY KA BEL was HIS and was simply lent to US. no reason to detest. no rancor to harbor.
. masakit eh. . tama na muna. . punas lang ko pawis. . ‘kala nio luha? ubos at tuyo na po. .
ProfHeckler kaw naman please. . ‘kaw kase. . kainis ‘kaw. .
yeah. . HIS ways are not our ways. . HIS thoughts are not ours too. .
WE can only AIM, but in the end, WE are stll HIS. . and WE should not complain.
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS WITH ALL OF US!!
GOOD DAY!!
You chose May.
Where were we to help fix your roof
On the season’s nagging leaks
Falling on the wrong places?
Pulling away the cause of it all
Led to your fall.
What intent, what passion
To undo what is askew
The father in you did not care
For posturings and all
The protector in you simply dares
Without fear.
What heart, what vision
With your death the shadow of life
With your silence the shadow of voice.
Ka Bel, it echoes
And echoes in our hearts
the echoes of the Filipinos.
The ripples in your waves
Surely would touch
So many shores.
very crass. very disrespectful. very tasteless.
Sorry, but this post on was written in such bad taste. As a former staff member of Ka Bel’s office, I personally feel offended and disappointed at this crass display of sarcasm and mockery. It trivializes the significance of his life and the weight of his passing away. Sana naman you had the decency to keep quiet if you had nothing sensible to post about his death–especially at this time of grief!
I am sure Ka Bel would have laughed this off and would have even thrown a witty comeback to such offhand remarks. This post is unethical and unfair precisely because it is issued when he is no longer here to defend himself and his principles.
I challenge you to learn more about Ka Bel–about his life, struggles, and principles. Take this period of public mourning as an opportunity to really know the man and why thousands, millions of people consider his passing away as their loss too.
While it is sad that Beltran passed away, I believe the post is within the proper bounds. I mean the site is titled “Professional Heckler.” What did you expect? The guy is just being true to character.
He should have reserved that ‘heckling’ for the living. Not those who have just passed away.
don’t worry guys, just don’t take this ‘heckling’ seriously, and if i am not mistaken, may mga ibang yumao na rin ang na-heckle ni Mr. H, sabi nga he is just being true to his character
Guys don’t take the post seriously, the blog title already speaks of its contents. I’m Catholic and there are posts that are anti-church but I see them as just humor done satirically. If we would always see these things differently, we would end up like Singapore or worst Afghanistan.
this only means- sikat ka mr. professional heckler hehehe.
wow sikat ang blog mo! woohoo!
oo nga naman, nakalagay e “Professional Heckler”, what did you expect huh? malamang matawa pa si ka bel kung nabasa nya tong blog na to.
Those lines about Ka Abel are just fine.
crispin beltran was dead… condolence!
what he did when he was alive… this is the continuation..
to his supporters, don’t expect everything will go as expected. beltran is a public figure and a known NPA. can you expect nice words from the victims of NPA’s?
directly or indirectly, everybody were victims of these pests!
buti nga! nabawasan! satur at iba pa… kelan kaya time nyo?
“Police in Laguna are having a difficult time catching the suspects in the RCBC murder – something that’s not surprising considering that the police couldn’t even catch a single jueteng collector in the province.”
- I’m personally wondering why Congress is still pushing to implement the death penalty; the PNP seems to be efficiently executing suspects left and right already.
Farewell, Ka Bel!
Ba’t ba masyado apektado yung ibang mga tao?! Obviously, this blog shows that the author does not take any sides on any issues. I read this blog because it always makes me laugh and it exercises my brain for that matter. I’m sure if Ka-Bel was alive, he would just shrug this off since he is an intelligent leader. Guys, let’s not forget what this Blog is about ok. I’m pretty sure Loi didn’t intend to attack Ka-Bel personally, and even if he did or if someone did, I’m sure that it wouldn’t tarnish Ka-Bel’s character if none of ‘em was true.
Kaya Loi, sige lang keep on writing and tirahin mo lang lahat ng dapat tirahin!!!
ayos lang yan, you cannot please everybody.
wag niyo lokohin at gamitin mahihirap…
I say that satire is satire and freedom is speech includes laughing over both the living and the dead. Does a person become suddenly “too great to criticize” because he’s dead? Why don’t we bury Ferdinand Marcos btw at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.. after all, he’s a dead dictator *grins*
